Leona Lewis Says Simon Cowell Is Really a Nice Guy
Singer Leona Lewis has insisted that X Factor judge Simon Cowell is nothing like his on-air persona in real life and is actually a very person.
The ‘Happy’ singer, who has spent a lot of time working with the pop mogul since winning The X Factor in 2006, dismissed speculation that he is as mean off screen as he is when judging contestants.
“He’s actually a really nice, easy-going guy,” Angry Ape quotes Lewis as saying. “It wasn’t that scary, as he’s not as bad as he’s portrayed - he’s really sweet to work with.
“He’s still a mentor to me. If I ever need advice, I know I can go to him.”
As if her chart-topping antics after The X Factor weren’t enough, now Leona Lewis is looking likely to grab an Oscar as well. Is there no stopping her?
Not content with one entry, Leona has two soundtrack numbers in the running for the Best Original Song category.
Her current single Happy is used in gritty movie Precious, which has been produced by Oprah Winfrey.
Leona said: “I’m just so proud of it because I wrote it, and to be associated with a film like Precious, which is about trying to overcome troubles and trials in your life. I’m glad that someone got that message.”
She is also being tipped for Oscar glory with I See You, which features in big budget sci-fi epic Avatar, which comes out this month.
